Is there life in/after the White Paper?

Come and join me and illustrious experts discussing the likely outcomes of the White Paper of the Reform of the Federation. A grand symposium is being held on the afternoon of Tuesday 29th September at the University of Canberra. It is part of the annual conference of the Australian Political Studies Association. Symposium attendance is free but registration is essential. Email samuelgriffith2015@griffith.edu.au. (Lunch and drinks provided).  Do come!

I'll be discussing my report - Schooling federalism: evaluating the options for reform - which examined the four proposals put forward by the White Paper Taskforce. I'll also be discussing which reforms are most likely under the new prime minister and new Commonwealth minister for education.  Other presentations include "Confronting the devolution paradox" (Prof Haig Patapan); Divided power or shared (with juicy survey data, bu Prof Rodney Smith, and Prof A.J. Brown); and intergovernmental relations and democratic accountability (by Dr Paul Kildea and Assoc Prof Robyn Hollander).
